Kenya Airways in Code Sharing Agreement with Air Europa
Kenya Airways will also benefit from the agreement as it can now fly its passengers into Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, New York, and Miami.
- The partnership has been made possible because both Air Europa and Kenya Airways are members of the SkyTeam Alliance.
Kenya Airways has signed a code share agreement with Spanish airline ‘Air Europa’ this afternoon to access wider travel destinations in Europe and the US.
Air Europa is the third largest airline in Spain. The deal will open up their services into a new market thus fostering their competitive aspirations.
“We are excited about this partnership as it will provide our guests with more convenient travel options to Europe and the United States,” said Martin Gitonga, head of KQ’s Network planning and alliances.
“This alliance allows us to significantly expand our reach in a region with growing demand, which will certainly be of great benefit to our customers,” said Estelle Leray, Air Europa’s director of alliances.
Kenya Airways agreed to partner with South African Airways in December last year. The deal allowed the national airline to access travel codes from Johannesburg to Sao Paulo in Brazil.
